JAMIE'S CHILDREN - FOR THE SUMMER

This is the Brian and Kristen Sorensen children, from Keller, Texas. Jamie is being their nanny for the months of June and July~aren't they cute!?

The oldest of the crew is Dan...

Jamie was going to send a few pictures with her in them, but the power has been out and the camera needed charging. They had a tornado, Jamie's first experience with a tornado, the day before. Fortunately, it did not hit them directly, however, it was apparently close enough to knock out the power. ~We hope everyone is okay!

JAMIE, THE TEXAS NANNY

I thought I'd share the first pictures we received from Jamie since she left for Keller, Texas last week. She is being nanny for Kerrie's sister, Kristen, for a couple of months.

Jamie told Kerrie yesterday that she looked at some pictures while she was there last year, and she was really tan. She told Kerrie that her new goal was to get a great tan again this year! By the looks of these pictures, she is working hard. :-0

Jamie's uncle, Brian, built this plane shortly before they moved from Utah to Texas. Pretty cool!

Also, a quick note on the "building move" at work. There was an awful lot of activity, but I certainly didn't see much accomplished?? You'll have to see if you noticed anything from yesterday.

ALMOST MOVED

Well, I see it has been a month since I updated you on the building being moved across the street from work. Here are some pictures so that you can keep tabs. :0) It is almost in it's final resting place, many millions of tax dollars later... all for the "Odd Fellows".

The brown and tan checkered area to the left of the building are 4 inch steel plates that they have put down to roll the building across. They had problems with it sinking into the ground, and this has prevented it from happening.

It appeared as though they were actually going to start moving again, as indicated by one truck backed in and lines tied to the back. I think they stopped at that point because it began to rain??

Moving day. The truck's are almost all hooked up and ready to move.

Although it is difficult to see in this picture, the trucks have pulled almost to the Federal Court on the left, and the lines are tight and pulling.

Whew! It's a good thing they are finished because I'm exhausted (from work, I promise, not just watching the building move) The chains have been removed and some of the truck's are neatly lined up to the right of the building, ready to pull across the street.

It looks like they could move it across the street tomorrow but I don't know if they will or if they will need to move the big metal plates over the road to move across it. Regardless, as you can see, the big timbers are neatly lined up in the 12-14 foot (?) hole. They are ready for the building to be set down on them and then lowered into place.

I'm sure you can hardly wait to see the rest of the "move". I hope I remember to take pictures. :0)
