FISHLAKE WINTER

In February Tyson and a group from college went up to the cabin at Fishlake and spent the night and did some ice fishing. They had intended to stay for 2 nights, however, a storm was coming in on Saturday and they didn't want to get caught in it. --Nobody can convince me that college doesn't make you smarter!

Tyson said that the ice was 16 inches thick where they drilled thru the ice, which was about 40 feet from the shore at Twin Creeks. Below are a couple of pictures that he sent to me today of the snow at the cabin.

This is the back of the cabin. In the winter you have to enter thru the back porch. This is looking out the front door thru the screen. You can see why it would be difficult to get in this way. You would have to do some digging!I don't know if this was taken from an upstairs window or the back porch.I must admit, though this may be pretty to some, I prefer Fishlake in the summer when it is nice and green. Tyson and his friends said they had a good time however, which is all that matters!

*Here is a picture from the upstairs window taken in June 2007. It doesn't do it quite enough justice becaue I think I messed with the imaging program and gave it a bit of a brown tint. :-)
