FISH LAKE - CABIN

We planed on going to the family cabin at Fish Lake Thursday morning and staying until Monday. When we picked up the key we decided to check the calendar to make sure we were okay to stay until Monday. Unfortunately, the dates that we had actually reserved the cabin were the prior week, and someone else had the cabin reserved for this weekend. Kerrie was so upset, embarrassed, and frustrated by having the wrong dates that it made her physically ill. (We all get things wrong at one time or another, we're supposed to, we're human) After making a couple of phone calls, we found that we were okay to spend a couple of days at the cabin. The people scheduled to use the cabin this weekend were not going to be there until Saturday afternoon, so we were okay to spend Thursday and Friday night.

We were able to enjoy a couple of relaxing days, and the boys got in a little bit of fishing in, so it worked out just fine, and in fact, I think that it is probably a good thing that we had to come home Saturday. Kerrie spent almost the entire time with her oxygen on and asleep. She hadn't been feeling very well for a couple of days prior to going to the cabin and still wasn't fully recovered. Also, because of problems with her lungs, Kerrie has an extremely hard time breathing at that altitude without using her oxygen concentrator. --My GPS said it was 8983 feet above sea level in the kitchen.

Steve and Janet went with us and stayed in the cabin, while Dad and Mom stayed in their trailer at the Doctor Creek camp ground. It was really nice being able to visit with them.

Doug, Tyson and Joel went out on the lake in the boat Friday afternoon, and Doug caught a couple of good size fish. Tyson said he got "skunked, however, he did manage to catch Joel's line during one of the quick turn maneuvers on the boat. I think that, although the time was too short, everyone had a great time and was glad they were able to go. Doug and a group of friends are going back for a few days the end of September, which will be good because they will have a little more time to fish.

Most of Kerrie's family will be going the last of July and first part of August, which means that Jamie will be able to spend some time at the cabin and on the lake as well. I am really glad for this because Jamie loves to fish! I'm not sure the I'll let Kerrie go because she has such a hard time breathing at that altitude. We'll see . . .

I didn't take many pictured, in part due to the fact that the cord to charge my camera seems to have disappeared. (grrrrrr), and in part because I pretty much stayed in the cabin to be with Kerrie. Below are a couple that I did manage to sneak in. We'll have to do better next year!

Doug is running away :0) -- he is faster than the shutter on the camera!

I stopped on the way down to the Fish Lake lodge this morning and took this picture of the lake with my cell phone camera. It's not the best quality, but still not too bad.. and definitely gorgeous!

This is a picture that I took with Doug's camera, and then "doctored" the color, and blurred the image a little bit in a photo shop program. I like it!!!

On our way home we stopped off at uncle Tom's (DVM) to drop off money and the keys to the cabin. While we were there he gave us the shots that the dogs needed for their vaccinations and licensing. When we got to Ephraim to pick up the dog's --Kerrie's brother, Mike, watched the dogs while we were gone---I gave them the shots. They did extremely well, although neither dog is feeling 100% tonight. ---they are just like kids, including being sick after receiving their immunizations.

Well, it is now after 1:00 AM and I'm really tired (I hope this even makes sense).

Take care, and I'll update you soon . . .
