Tonight as Tyson was going out to see his girlfriend he told me there were 3 deer across the street on the neighbor's front lawn. This is not an unusually occurrence, and in fact happens on a daily basis. Fortunately we don't have them come into our yard very often, although we have had them on occasion. While I really enjoy watching the deer I'm glad they don't come over often because they are hard on the shrubbery and gardens. I should also point out that I love watching deer from the comfort of my home, or at least from a distance in the car. Kerrie and I hit a deer many years ago and I am still a bit shy when driving in the mountains at night for fear of hitting another one.
Unfortunately tonight it was getting dark when the deer appeared, so the pictures I took are pretty bad. Generally the deer don't stick around long enough for pictures, but tonight I ran downstairs and got the camera and took a chance they would wait for me. Although they did wait--and I'm sure it was just for me ;-) , I stayed on our porch and attempted pictures. Because it was dark and they were some distance away, the 2 pictures below is about as good as I got. You'll probably have to squint to see it, but trust me, they are there.
I used to embarrass the kids (okay, I still do) by stopping and talking to the deer, whether it be in the car or on the street. They really can be pretty, and pretty interesting animals.
~Now for the Primary part~
Kerrie was asked to teach a Primary class. These are pictures of the kids she will have each week. They are cute, don't you think?
