The snow is coming down quite heavy this morning. I have been out with the snow blower once so far today, and it is about time for another round. We have a couple of neighbor's that shouldn't be out shoveling their drive or walks, and since today is Saturday and my a day off of "work", I don't mind doing them. I'm glad I went out early and got the first couple of inches though...because it was a very wet snow. The neighbor directly across the street had hip replacement surgery a couple of weeks ago, and the neighbor just West of them is an elderly lady and her daughter. I truly don't mind helping when I can---and as most of you likely know, a snow blower makes it an awful lot easier than a shovel.
Despite the cold and snow outside, our home is nice and warm. This Valentines Day it is particularly warm for a couple of reason's--in addition to the temperature of the air inside.
This morning when Kerrie and I got up we went to the Kitchen and found the 4 M&M bank / candy dispenser's on the counter in the picture at the top. Tyson got them for Kerrie, Doug, Jamie, and I for Valentines!. All of our children are amazing, and we love them all very much.
Another reason that it is warm inside our home is because we have each other. Not simply for Valentine's gifts, Christmas or Birthday presents, or the countless other material blessings we are given each day, which are nice and very much appreciated. The true warmth comes from knowing that we have a family that truly love one another. Kerrie and I are also very blessed to have our children home with us.
This past week the children have had 3 of their friends and High School classmates pass away in car accidents. As I have read of the lives of these young women, and how much others love and will miss them, I am reminded how extremely lucky I am to have all 3 children around. Not only are they "around", they are very enjoyable to be with. Although they are all busy with work, friends and school, I love the one-on-one talks that I am able to have frequently.
Another reason that it is warm is because I have amazing parents, brothers and sisters, and friends that I know care about me and my family. I love each of you!
Probably the greatest warmth for me comes from my awesome wife, Kerrie. As many of you know she does not have the best health, and despite not feeling well and in pain most of the time...she manages to take good care of me and our children.
I will end this post now; I really need to get some other things done today. :0)
Take care, and Happy Valentines Day 2009!
